Cloutier Chris Cloutier designed this poster for the 43rd Annual Baseball Dinner held in Manchester NH for the JIMMY FUND in January 1991. That was also the year that Ted Williams celebrated the 50th Anniversary of his hitting .406. The original painting from which the poster is printed hangs in the Hitters Hall of Fame of the Ted Williams Museum in Hernando, FL. Other paintings by the artist hang there as well as in the Cooperstown Hall of Fame & Museum. Because Leo Cloutier was a close personal friend of Ted's and the leading sports writer in New England, one might appreciate the sentimant behind the art. The condition of this poster is A++ and is signed at the lower right by the artist. It can be personalized if desired. Size is 18 x 24, printed on 100% acid free glossy poster stock by Sanford Graphics, New York City. |

Leo Cloutier
See TED WILLIAMS and other greats at the Manchester Baseball Dinner. Produced
by Leo's son Chris Cloutier, directed and edited by Dan Paul. Leo E. Cloutier
will be remembered for his great love of "The American Pasttime" through
his sports columns which ran in 50 New England Newspapers and was bannered
"..With Malice Toward None". Leo Founded The Manchester Baseball Dinner
and Directed it for 40 consecutive years until his death in 1988. During
his time as director, he brought all the diamond greats of the day to
the snowy hills of Manchester, New Hampshire. This is a rare glimpse into
the career of a man who made his mark on many people. Over the years,
greats such as Ty Cobb, Casey Stengle, Hank Aaron, Bobby Orr, Satchel
Paige, Carl Yastrzemski, Sparky Anderson, Jim Palmer, Carlton Fisk, Pete
Rose, George Scott, Hal McRae, Bowie Kuhn, Willie Stargell, Rod Carew,
Yogi Berra, Willie Mays, Joe Cronin, Leo Durocher, Roberto Clemente, Jimmy
Piersall and Ted Williams, to name some, have passed thru the grand doors
of The New Hamshire State Armoury. See Sparky Anderson's Spring Training
interview with Leo from 1977 and his following visit to the 30th Baseball
Dinner. See Ted Williams give his insight into the young hitters he's
coaching; hear him tell the story of how Leo met Babe Ruth! |
